I am installing on Ubuntu 6.06
I have successfully installed the free turboprint for my Canon Pixma MP500.
I bought the licence.
WHen I go to register the key file, I can't get past the prompt for the root password.
I *AM* running setup as root.

monkey@Fjord:~/Cannon/turboprint-1.94-4$ sudo ./setup
Password for root on 192.168.1.9?
Password for root on 192.168.1.9?
Password for root on 192.168.1.9?

No matter what I type, I get this. I am typing the right pass.

I can't get past this install step and my turboprint is stil "unregistered" even though I bought the licence.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

The message is not a TurboPrint message - it comes from the CUPS printing system. CUPS uses its own set of passwords which are managed by the "lppasswd" command.

Running "setup" is not required for registering.

Either run

sudo xtpsetup

and select the key file using the button "Register", then "Install keyfile".

Or execute

sudo tpsetup --install turboprint.tpkey

(the key "turboprint.tpkey" mst be present in the current directory.
