Can't install Turboprint under PPC Debian

Hi there,

I downloaded the .tgz file, uncompressed it.
I saw the warning about Debian, so I did
sudo apt-get install libgtk1.2
which ran OK.
Ran setup, and got this:

tpsetup: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open share d object file: No such file or directory
install: cannot stat `/usr/share/turboprint/ppd/*': No such file or directory
tpsetup: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open share d object file: No such file or directory

When I try double-clicking the TurboPrint-Setup icon, I just get an alert
'xtpsetup' command not found.
However my /usr/bin directory does have xtpsetup with execute permission.

I'm a bit of a newbie, so have no idea what to try next.

Cheers, Mike.

Hello,

there is an incompatibility with shared libraries - we will try to fix this with the next TurboPrint for PPC release.

If there is a newer version of libstdc++ in /usr/lib, it may help to create a symbolic link e.g.

ln -s /usr/lib/libstdc++ .so.6 /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5

Thanks for this -- I'll give the symbolic link a try later when I get time, but whatever happens I can wait till the next release, since I dual-boot Mac OSX and I can always print from the OSX side.

Cheers, Mike.

Tried this, still not working

I'm no longer using Debian, so I'm bowing out of this topic.
Cheers, Mike.
