Canon PIXMA iP4500 prints only a blank page

I am using CentOS 5 (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5) on Pentium with a Canon PIXMA iP4500 printer directly connected via USB.
When I try to print a test page, the printer just spits out one page without actually printing anything on it. The same thing happens with every other printer driver I have tried, like Guteprint 5.1.3.
There seems to be something wrong with the iP4500 in particular. I see support for the iP4300 and iP5000, but not iP4500.
