I would like to setup turboprint on a system w/o xwindows.
I installed the turboprint via deb package - however get:
~$ turboprint
ERROR:
xtpsetup can't open X display
Please use the following sequence when switching to root:
xhost +
su root
export DISPLAY=:0
when trying to start turboprint
I could not find reference in any forum or document about setting up turboprint w/o xwindows. Thanks in advance - Luke
Install on system w/o Xwindows
Hello slotwin,
as the "x" in "xtpsetup" indicates, this setup program need xwindows.
However, there is a separate setup program called "tpsetup" that is just console based and works without xwindows.
You seem to use the previous version 1 of TurboPrint - to configure the printer settings this version additionally offers a config program called "tpconfig" which also works without xwindows.
