Using Turboprint and CUPS

Assume that you run TP for a TP supported printer and all is well. Next you have a printer that is NOT supported by TP and will run on either an LPT1 or USB port.

The second printer is a Brother HL2030 which is supported by Brother with a Brother LPD/LPR driver and a CUPSwrapper. This Brother install comes up with USB2 as the default. Can you install the Brother software AFTER you install TP? Will the TP and Brother installations co-exist?

Hello,

this is no problem - TurboPrint and other printer drivers can co-exist without problems. It doesn't matter which driver is set up first.

Also it is no problem to attach several USB printer - in current Linux installations, USB printers are referenced by printer model name (e.g. usb://Brother/HL2030 ), not by port number.

Hello again;

OK. I'll attempt this. Thanks for the data.
