I'm using fedora 12 x86_64 and a canon pixma MP490. Up until today everything was going well when printing with turbo print.
When i attempted to print a page of text in gedit and openoffice the page came out in thick black ink.
I've deleted the printer in system-config-printer and added the printer again but without any improvement.
Is their a way to reset turboprint to default settings? How can i remove the previous settings if that is indeed the problem and reinstall turboprint?
Finally after losing half a cartridge of black ink i booted windows xp and the 3 lines of text that i initially tried to print worked without error.
It appears to be a linux problem. Jonathon
Pages coming out in solid black ink in fedora 12 (canon)?
Hello,
the "black page problem" seems to have been introduced with ghostscript-8.70-5.fc12:
Bug 563313 - cups driver gives incorrect output with -r600x600
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=563313
This document lists the following packages as bugfix solution
ghostscript-8.70-6.fc12
and
ghostscript-8.71-4.fc12
Downgrading to an older version of ghostscript helps as well.
