I have been evaluating the turboprint driver for a while and I'm very pleased with the print quality. However I can't get it to properly position the text on a US Letter paper sheet.

I'm running a Canon S520 on Ubuntu Lucid Lynx and I have tried with various applications (Adober Reader, OpenOffice Writer, etc).

In the various tests I have done, I have set the text to start at 0.5 inch from the top and set the paper size to US letter. Unfortunately the print always start at 1 inch 1/4 from the top.

I don't have this problem if I use the basic driver provided by Ubuntu (Canon S500 Foomatic/bj8pa06n.upp).

I have found out that the settings are not changed and saved. This is why it always print to A4 rather than US and therefore causing the misalignement. Strangely settings are changed if I use the gimp plugin.

Problem solved.
