screen film halftoning solids

Post by bensdman »

canon pixma pro 100. all black ink. my solids are printing out in halftone. about 98-99%. most of the time this can be adjusted out in the exposure process, but i am wondering how do i adjust the settings, or image to output a solid black film?
image was too high of resolution to attach, so resolution was reduced. may not show halfones on film as well.

Hello,

black should be solid if

- the image that you're printing contains only black (RGB=0,0,0) and white (RGB=255,255,255)
- contrast is set to at least 100% in the PrintFab driver settings, tab "Main"
- no color management settings have been made in the application's print dialog

If you are printing from CorelDraw, Photoshop or Illustrator, we recommend to enable "Separations" in the application's print dialog.

If this doesn't help, please email me the PrintFab log files:

Windows menu -> All programs -> PrintFab -> Show log files
You can send them in a ZIP archive (e.g. compress from Windows Explorer
using the right-mouse-button option "Send to ZIP archive").

Send to mail (at) zedonet (dot) com and please write from which application you are printing.
