Canon Pixma MP530 600x600 DPI only

Post by Grooby »

Hi all,

I am trying out TurboPrint with my ARMS based CUPS server, running Armbian. I have everything setup and I am able to print, similar to using the open source driver. However, I am not able to increase/improve my DPI quality beyond 600x600. Per https://www.zedonet.com/en_p_turboprint_driver.phtml?search=Canon+PIXMA+MP530&action=%3E, I should have other selections available to me. However, I am only seeing 300 DPI and 600 DPI option. This is from a Windows 10 laptop, connecting to Armbian CUPS. Is it possible that I am doing something wrong here?

Hello,

from a Windows client, you may see the "rendering resolution" (300dpi or 600dpi - the base resolution for the Windows operating system) instead of the actual print resolution (300dpi to 9600dpi, depending on the printer model - the resolution of print data sent to the printer).

Can you send a screenshot?

That might be what I am looking at then. If that is the case, then there is no way to select the output resolution right?

Overall, the photo printout on a photo paper looks fantastic so there might not be an issue but a simple user (me) ignorance.

I am not sure if you can select between some of the possible print qualities / output resolutions.
Which options can you see in the driver?
