Fixing colour balance on Ubuntu

Post by peterfreeth »

I'm sure this question has been asked before, unfortunately the board search doesn't allow the terms 'colour' and 'profile' as they are too common!

I am trying to print photos on an Epson ET2750 from Ubuntu 21.10.

By default, the print is hugely over-saturated with strong contrast and lost detail.

In TurboPrint I can create a printer profile which reduces the print saturation by setting a lower ink limit.

The ink limit setting appears to make no difference to the printed output.

In the print dialog from the program e.g. PDF viewer, GIMP, has a print color profile pull-down but it is greyed out.

What is the best way to adjust the colour balance for the TP driver so that all applications can output the right colours?

Hello,

the best way to get better output is to create a new color profile, e.g. with our color profile creation service.

Here are the basic steps:

1. In the "TurboPrint Color" application, open the dialog "Profiles"

2. Add a new profile entry (one profile for each paper you want to use).

3. Select paper type (e.g. plain paper, matte coated paper,
glossy/semiglossy), print quality (the one you use most) and max. ink
amount

4. Print the color chart page on the paper you want to profile (in the
"Profiles" dialog, button "Print color chart").
The profile type "Proof/Studio" is recommended.
You will have to enter a profile measurement code, which you can
purchase in our online shop for EUR 14.95 per profile.

5. Send the color chart to

ZEDOnet GmbH
- PrintFab Color Profiles -
Sedanstraße 8
87600 Kaufbeuren
Germany

6. We will send you the profile data file by email
Your new profile will be available as a new "Paper" entry in the TurboPrint print settings.

A detailed description is contained in the TurboPrint PDF manual:
