ink too thick on transparencies for screen-print?

Post by jpw green1 »

hi there

i'm using Printfab XL on my mac. i use it to print transparencies on an HP Designjet T120 for screen-printing through photoshop.

i think i have set things up correctly through photoshop, making sure i have selected transparency as media, and printing goes fine. the black looks rich and not transparent, which is what i want.

however, once printed, the ink seems not to dry properly. when i use it on my silkscreens it actually sticks to the screens. it seems like maybe it is putting too much ink down.

do you have any advice on the best combination of settings so that i get a rich/dense black but so that it actually dries properly too?

cheers

Hello,

dry time is specific to the combination of ink and print media. We have no experience with printing transparent films with the T120 printer, so I cannot give a reliable answer.

You can try to
  • use a different film
  • reduce ink amount
