Large file/photo printing error to Canon MP830 over SAMBA

Post by thearne3 »

I have a Pixma MP830 attached to an XP sp2 pc. I have successfully added the printer to my list on my iMac. Normal documents print successfully, as does the Saturation Test page.

However, a large file, e.g., a photo:

1. gives the error message 'NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED' or
2. connects and then stalls after indicating up to 16% completion

It feels like a 'spooling' problem, but I don't know on which end to look! Are there file size limits in SAMBA?

Please help!

Windows network printing problems, NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED

Post by zedonet »

Hello,

the error message

NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED

can occur when printing to a Windows network printer if

- no user name has been entered

- or if the printer needs authentication and the wrong username / password combination has been entered

We found that the user name can get lost after modifications in PrintFab Toolbox (keyfile registration, new profile added, custom page size added).

There is a bugfix version available:

ftp://ftp.zedonet.com/printfab/printfab-2.05beta3.dmg

(the final version 2.05 will follow soon).

Please let me know if that helps.

Large files - beta

Post by thearne3 »

I have successfully used the beta for printing photos. However, I also discovered that SAMBA really prefers to have logins with a password. When I set up an account on the PC which included a password, things seemed to work more consistently.

Thanks for your help!
