Mandriva 2010.1
HP Deskjet 6520, hpijs driver
TurboPrint 2.11-2

I have started having trouble with CUPS/lpr and photoprinting after
many years of successfully using the command line options for position
and orientation. Time to try TurboPrint again. This printer is a
couple or three years old. It predates my TurboPrint licence but when
I went to install it I could not find it in the list. Does anybody
know if there is a later version of TurboPrint which does support the 6500
series?

I need to use the centring option and other positions on an A4 page
with various scaling values and to be able to switch freely between
portrait and landscape. Only the GIMP and Firefox allow centring
now. All other applications suffer from the lpr problem.

The other thing with TurboPrint is it does not seem to know about USB ports??

TurboPrint support suggested trying the hp515x driver and that works fine. lpr behaves itself; all the options I have tried work fine.
It was the hpcups driver that I tried under CUPS. It must have superceded the hpijs driver. One up for TurboPrint :D . I like the installation procedure for drivers - simple and straightforward.
