Borderless printing with Epson SC-P900

Hello,
For over 6 years I have been using Turboprint Studio 2.47 together with my Epson SC-P600 on Ubuntu (starting at 18.04(I think) but recently 22.04). With this setup I could perfectly create borderless prints on any paper format, no issues. Unfortunately my SC-P600 suffers several issues rendering the machine inoperable. So I upgraded to an Epson SC-P900.
But now I'm having an issue with borderless printing (Turboprint Studio XL 2.58, Ubuntu 22.04, Epson SC-P900). Only tried this on A4 in portrait orientation yet. I do choose the A4 borderless paper size. On the short edges the print is perfectly borderless. On the long edges however there is a white margin present of approximately 3,5mm (one side ~3mm other side ~4mm). The image (compared to preview) is cropped, not scaled. The white margin is an overlay on the image cutting away part of the image.
So far I tried printing from different applications to exclude the application from being the culprit (GIMP, export from GIMP to pdf printed with pdf viewer) both result in the same issue. I also tried different connection methods (CUPS/IPP/LDP/DNSSD) all the same result. I tried adding A4 borderless as a custom paper size but again same result. I also tried setting several paper types (plain/archival matte/premium luster) but again same result.
What am I doing wrong or am I overlooking?
Many thanks in advance,
Michel
