Borderless printing does not work in maximum quality DPI mode

Hi there

I have found that borderless printing on my Epson P900 with TurboPrint does not work if I select the maximum quality (6 - 5760). This is for glossy paper, as matt doesn't seem to allow printing higher than 4 - 2880 anyway. For the maximum DPI, the paper is always advanced around 3mm prior to printing starts, and the bottom is cut off by approximately the same amount.

I have attached examples of the corners of a borderless test print I have done at both 2880 and 5760, A4 portrait, with the 'top' side being printed first first. Other than the quality/DPI, all other settings and sizes are identical, and both are printed on the same paper (Epson Premium Semiglossy).

Pete

PS. Ignore the colour swatches; I was reusing a piece of paper to save on costs.

Hello and please excuse the delay. I have just investigated and found out that the Epson SC-P900 doesn't support borderless printing in the highest print resolution, this is a restriction of the printer firmware that also applies to Epson's Windows driver. TurboPrint should not allow this combination of settings, we will fix this in the next TurboPrint release.

Thanks for the update. This isn't a problem as I don't do very much borderless printing, and reducing the quality slightly is not a problem. But it is useful to know.

Do you know what the highest quality setting is supported?

The setting "4 - 2880dpi" is the highest print quality for borderless printing, with "5 - 2880dpi fine" and "6 - 5760dpi" borderless printing is not possible.
