Preview Print Job doesn't preview the print job.

Post by MrCanon »

Hello Folks,

although I have preview print job enabled, when i print something, it gets printed directly, meaning I don't get to preview the print job before it the printer prints it.

If this is an issue, it'd be great to have it corrected. If it is works as intended (meaning... doesn't really preview anything), that I would kindly submit this as a great new feature!

I wanted to be more clear:

TurboPrint shows what is being printed while it is being printed - a mini view of the page that is being printed. So the visual rendering of the print job in Turboprint seems to work just fine.

What I think is not working properly is that, as soon as you press print (a PDF for example) the pages start printing immediately.
The PREVIEW, showing the job _before_ printing, isn't working; it's not waiting to let you view the job, it's just printing it right away.

Thank you.

Hello and please excuse the late reply due to vacation.

When preview is activated, the app "TurboPrint Composer" should open with the current print job. Please check if you can start the TurboPrint Composer app (via desktop icon or from Terminal with the command "turboprint-composer").

Also, please send the TurboPrint log file archive:
Start "TurboPrint Control" (desktop icon or command "turboprint") -> dialog "Preferences" -> button "Create log archive".
Then send the resulting archive by email to mail <at> zedonet <dot> com and refer to this forum post.
