TurboPrint & PrintFab

I am testing the PrintFab 2 rip to drive my 9600 using the 24in 7600 driver until support for the 9600 arrives. Initial results are very promising I use very heavy matte papers and notices what I would describe as a mottling (orange peel effect) across a dark print like the ink was puddling and drying at different rates. I'm not sure if it's the paper (Innova IFA39) or ink limits (Genuine Epson UC mk) or some other parameter but rather than guess the solution I thought I'd ask here.

This sounds as if too much ink is being applied. There are different possibilities to solve the problem:

• create a new color profile in PrintFab Toolobox with a lower "ink saturation limit"
• reduce the ink amount in the print dialog, section PrintFab Settings - either on tab "Ink Control 2", slider "Reduce intensity" (will make the printout brighter) or on tab "Ink Control", slider "Total Ink Maximum" (will not affect lighter colors).
