Self made profile good color but to dark.

Post by roncromberge »

hello new challenge 😊

I have made a profile with my DataColor Spyderprint 5.x (the (old) new version).

The whole process went well in windows and PrintFab. Import in TurboPrint ok.

But the prints are good in color but to dark!

Do you have experience with profile making with Spyderprint?

I have also an Xrite colormunki studio. So I go to make the profile with the colormunki. And see if the colormunki is able to make correct profiles.

And last question in this post: what if I print without any profile. thus just paper selection and colorspace. (I think 90% of all printer users print there photos 😋) How off will my prints from a profiled print?

Greetings,
Ron

Hello,

Profiling with Xrite Colormunki Studio via windows went very well. 🎉 And ate much less paper 2 sheets. Compared to 4 with DataColor. 🤪

Colors and brightness are good. And as is very usable. I think that SpiderPrint still somewhat color-management used in printing the profiles. So I will contact DataColor. For answers. But I’m afraid that just as all the consumer spectrocolor meters by Xrite / calibrate no longer supported is. DataColor also stops with the Spyderprint line. Their latest software is very old and still 32bit.

Greetings
Ron.
