Printer driver for Canon TR7650

Post by hollingwood620 »

Hello
I have been running Manjaro on my laptop along with a printer driver for my then Canon printer MG5750 using Turboprint and everything worked well.
My printer then broke down and I had to get a new printer which is a Canon TR7650.
I thought that this would be covered by turboprint but then found that there was no driver for the Canon TR7600 series. There other other TR drivers but this series seems to have been missed out.
Canon do not do a driver for Arch/Manjaro and I could not install a driver form source code.
Not being able to print was a deal breaker and I have had to completely change operating system from Manjoro to MXLinux wich has a Deb base.
Canon do have a driver for Deb and I have been able to get the MXLinux system running and with the Canon driver have got my printing back.
The canon driver doesn't have as many facilities that Turboprint provide, so in short can I request for my wish list a Turboprint driver for my printer Canon TR7650?
Thank you.

Hello, I have already answered your email inquiry:

We recommend the replacement driver "Canon PIXMA TS6300series"

A dedicated driver is planned.
